a little halloween quiz

hello, hello, my sweetest,

I’ve missed you. if it’s any consolation, I had to choose which piece I wanted to send your way today, so I promise there’s more writing on the back burner. how have you been since we’ve last chatted? has your hair grown longer? are you staying warm?

perhaps the only theme I can’t keep from creeping into my letters, or most poems, is my interest in the afterlife, in ghosts. though we don’t choose our curiosities, I think I’m fascinated by the concept of it as a way to carry history, as a little thrill of supernatural spookiness, as a love letter to life, and in never straying too far from those we lose. I’ve written a tiny series of ghost poems recently (‘tis the season) and I thought it’d be fun, since they all differ quite a bit in personality, to make the poems a bit more interactive.
